Memories

Record a Memory

Use Record Memory to capture a story in your own voice. ForeverTree keeps the Memory together with its audio, transcript, photos, people, places, and other details.

Import an Audio Story

You can import an existing supported audio recording as a Memory. Choose My Memory for your own story or Someone Else’s Memory when preserving another person’s recording. When preserving someone else’s Memory, identify the storyteller so the saved Memory remains connected to the person telling the story.

Writings

Use Writings for journals, poems, letters, lyrics, essays, reflections, and other written material you want to preserve. Choose My Writing for your own work or Someone Else’s Writing when preserving something written by another person. When preserving someone else’s Writing, identify the author so the Writing remains attributed to the person who wrote it.

Supporting audio attached to a Writing is preserved as media for that Writing. The Writing itself remains the primary content.

People

People profiles help keep family members, friends, storytellers, authors, and other important people connected to the Memories and Writings where they appear.

Perspectives

Perspectives let another person contribute their own point of view to a Memory. A Perspective remains attributed to the contributor and does not replace the original Memory.

Sharing

Share with another ForeverTree member

You can selectively share a Memory with another person. Sharing one Memory does not give that person access to the rest of your archive.

Public Memory links

When you intentionally create a public link for a Memory, the link can be viewed outside your account. Creating a public link is separate from the archive’s Public/Private Legacy Access designation.

Public and Private items

Memories and Writings are marked Public by default for future Legacy Access. Public does not mean the item is posted on the internet or automatically shared with anyone.

Mark an item Private when you never want it available through future Legacy Access. Private items remain excluded even if Legacy Access is later activated.

Legacy Contact and Legacy Access

You can designate one trusted person as your Legacy Contact. Your Legacy Contact is designated for future Legacy Access; archive access is not activated merely by designating them.

If Legacy Access is later activated, the holder receives a dedicated read-only view of eligible Memories and Writings. They cannot edit or delete the original archive, and Private items remain excluded.

If the designated person is not yet a ForeverTree member, the designation can be associated with their email so it can be linked after they create and verify an account.

ForeverTree Plus

Free accounts include up to 25 Memories, 50 Writings, and up to 10 photos per Memory or Writing. ForeverTree Plus includes unlimited Memories and Writings with up to 25 photos per Memory or Writing.

Plus is offered as monthly or annual auto-renewable subscriptions. Purchases and subscription management are handled through the App Store. Restore Purchases is available from the ForeverTree Plus screen.

Account deletion

ForeverTree includes an in-app account deletion process with confirmation. Deleting your account removes the content owned by that account according to the app’s deletion process. Contributions you made as Perspectives on someone else’s Memory may remain associated with that owner’s Memory.
