Your archive should remain yours.

1. Who we are

ForeverTree is operated by ForeverTree LLC, based in Kingwood, Texas, United States. Questions about this policy or your information can be sent to support@forevertree.org.

2. Information you provide

Depending on how you use ForeverTree, you may provide account and profile information, Memories, Writings, transcripts, photos, audio recordings, names of people, places, dates, relationships, Perspectives, sharing information, Legacy Contact information, support communications, and other content you choose to preserve in your archive.

3. Information created when you use the service

ForeverTree may create or store technical and service information needed to operate the app, such as account identifiers, timestamps, usage or storage information, processing status, sharing records, subscription entitlement status, notification records, and security or diagnostic information.

4. Audio transcription and automated organization

When you use features that transcribe or analyze a Memory, the relevant content may be processed by service providers used to perform transcription, summarization, tagging, moderation, or other automated organization. ForeverTree uses these services to provide app functionality and not to sell your personal information or to deliver third-party advertising.

Supporting audio attached to a Writing is treated as supporting media and is not automatically used as the primary source for transcription or analysis of the Writing.

5. Photos and content moderation

ForeverTree may screen uploaded content to help detect material that violates platform rules or applicable law. Content that is flagged may be held for review, rejected, or blocked from upload or sharing.

6. How we use information

We use information to provide and maintain ForeverTree, store and display your archive, process audio and text features you request, connect Memories and Writings to people and places, enable Perspectives and selective sharing, provide notifications, support Legacy Contact and Legacy Access features, manage subscriptions and account limits, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and improve reliability and security.

7. Sharing and public links

ForeverTree is designed as a private archive. Your content is not automatically published simply because it exists in the app. If you choose to share a Memory with another person, that person may receive access to the specific shared content. If you intentionally create a public Memory link, anyone with access to that link may be able to view the content made available through that link.

8. Public and Private Legacy Access designations

Memories and Writings are generally eligible for future Legacy Access unless you mark them Private. This designation is separate from internet publication or direct sharing. A Private item is excluded from Legacy Access.

9. Legacy Contact and Legacy Access

If you designate a Legacy Contact, ForeverTree may store the designated person’s account identifier or email address and information needed to manage that designation. Legacy Access is not activated simply by naming a Legacy Contact. If Legacy Access is later activated, the holder receives read-only access to eligible archive content. Private items remain excluded, and the holder does not gain edit or delete control over the owner’s original archive.

10. Service providers

ForeverTree relies on service providers for functions such as cloud hosting and database storage, authentication, media storage, automated processing, email delivery, subscriptions and purchase verification, and operational infrastructure. These providers receive information only as needed to perform services for ForeverTree and are subject to their own contractual and privacy obligations.

11. Subscriptions and payments

ForeverTree Plus subscriptions purchased through the iOS app are processed through Apple’s App Store. ForeverTree receives subscription and entitlement information needed to determine whether Plus features are active. ForeverTree does not receive your full payment card number from Apple.

12. Data sale and advertising

ForeverTree does not sell your personal information and is not built around third-party advertising. We do not use your family archive to create advertising profiles for third parties.

13. Data retention

We retain information as needed to operate your account and preserve the archive you ask us to store. Some records may also be retained when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or to maintain the integrity of sharing and contribution relationships.

14. Account deletion

You can use ForeverTree’s in-app account deletion process to request deletion of your account. Content owned by the deleted account is removed through that process. A Perspective contributed to another person’s Memory may remain with that Memory because the contribution forms part of the other owner’s archive and remains attributed to its contributor.

15. Security

ForeverTree uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect stored information and limit access to authorized users and services. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but protecting private family content is a core design requirement of ForeverTree.

16. Children

ForeverTree is not specifically designed as a children’s service. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, contact us at support@forevertree.org.

17. International use

ForeverTree is operated from the United States and may use service providers that process information in the United States or other countries. Where required, we take reasonable steps to use appropriate protections for cross-border processing.

18. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as ForeverTree evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page and provide additional notice when appropriate.
